Tempeh |Tem-pay|

noun

An Indonesian food made from fermented soybeans.

*************************************************************

Fakin’ bacon rashers

1 package smoked Tempeh

1 1 Tbsp tamari

2 Tbsp dijon mustard

2 Tbsp maple syrup

1 Tbsp cider vinegar

1 Tbsp oil

1 tsp paprika

⅛ tsp black pepper

Slice tempeh into strips, mix all seasonings together and pour over sliced tempeh, making sure it coats both sides. Let it marinate for a couple of hours. Lay pieces on a cookie sheet or in a large casserole dish and pour over half of the marinade. Bake at 350F for 20 minutes, turn over and bake another 20 minutes. Add remaining marinade at halfway point if it is looking dry.
